The bridge between young people and small businesses

Over the last few weeks we’ve seen a lot of discussion on the value of vocational courses and new Government measures to cut official recognition of such courses. There are certainly valid reasons for reviewing the current system, raised by last year’s Wolf Report on vocational qualifications. However, as anyone in the engineering community knows, significantly downgrading the value of the Engineering Diploma at a time when a shortage of just such skills is being highlighted, risks a real detrimental affect on the future of the industry in the UK.
